Pirate DAVEY JONES Shrunken Head found on Florida Beach

Wednesday, January 24th, 2007

I was taking my morning walk along the sunny shores of Tampa Bay when I came upon the most unusual item I have ever seen. Amoung the oyster covered rocks exposed during low tide, was the dried and shrunken head of none other than the pirate Davey Jones! Shocked as I was, I picked it up and took it home to add to my seashell collection. Davey Jones head is indeed a rare find. Over 3 feet long, measured around at the edge of the tentacles. The head is about 6 inches tall. I do not know if Davey Jones head is cursed…the winner to this auction will find out sooner or later. I will not be held responsible for the bad or good this head may bring you.

Jer Says:
This weird seller claims “The ONLY Real Head of Pirate Davey Jones on EBAY”.
Christ, how many heads did Davey Jones have? Also, how the hell does he know it is Davey Jones’ for sure.
Something stinks about this auction, other than the decapitated head…but hey, it’s getting a lot of bids.

Armadillo Basket

Tuesday, October 31st, 2006

Armadillos were made into baskets and such back in the 30’s and 40’s. This one had a lining at one time. You can tell by some fine even holes that have been pierced on the edges. Another liner could easily be replaced if you chose. I think he looks better naked myself. Otherwise he seems to be in a great lifeless state.

Are we sure there’s a market for antique dead animals?

Complete mummy coffin from Egypt’s Late Period. The piece is in great condition with vivid original paint. Nice Isis on the front, with Anubis God of embalming under. Offering text from the book of the dead down the front. The whole coffin is rare in that it is completely covered with linen, gesso, then painted. Thus keeping the pigment sealed in the linen, and very bright.

Rams Horn & Silver Chalice

Tuesday, August 29th, 2006

Here is a very unusual piece. It’s a very old rams horn with silver (silver plated I think) pieces attached to make a chalice or goblet. It measures about 11 1/2″ long and about 7″ tall. The horn itself is a very long horn with almost 2 curls and shows years of handling wear, great patina. The silver cup part and the foot are a little loose. The lid of the cup is a little bent and it has had something broken off of the very top (finial). Also the bowl of the cup is blistering. I’m guessing this is over 100 years old but I’m not an expert on these type of things. Overall this is a very cool looking piece and in good condition for it’s age.

Yellow Feet Lamp

Saturday, August 26th, 2006

Here is a very unique and unusual lamp. It’s base are a pair of metal feet which have toenails to match the very colorful bejeweled shade. This lamp is used, but is in very good condition.

Yeah, I’d like to buy it too but you know our wives would kill us.
